The Muscat Private Hospital, one of the premier private medical facilities in Oman, completed ten years of its existence and will celebrate the decennial anniversary on its hospital premises in Bausher.

Announcing new plans for the development of the hospital, Murat Kucukkaya, the hospital administrator, said yesterday that the hospital plans to open seven new departments in 2011. He said, “It has been our commitment to raise the standards of healthcare through efficient service and facilities at Muscat Private Hospital.”

Murat added, “Technological developments in the medical industry are updated almost daily and we have to continuously invest in state- of-the-art equipment to stay ahead and remain a world class facility. Of course, technology would be nothing without the expertise of our medical team. Without their excellent skills and dedication to the profession and their patients, the hospital would cease to function. This team of hardworking individuals have cared for, treated and improved the lives of so many patients of MPH. They form the backbone of our hospital.”

In a statement issued by Awad Mohammed Faraj Bamkhalef, chairman of Muscat Private Hospital, said, “Our expansion plans remain key to MPH’s long-term objective of providing superior quality care to the residents of Oman. As the population grows so does the demand for world-class treatment from highly trained medical professionals, and we are meeting this challenge ‘head on’ with the opening of new departments in 2011.”

He added, “The hospital is also working towards securing Joint Commission (JCI) accreditation – an international symbol of quality and high performance standards in hospitals in the USA. Achieving JCI accreditation will be affirmation of our vision to guarantee the safest, highest quality, best value health care to our patients, across all departments.”

“JCI is a unique tool designed to provide quantifiable benchmarks for patient care quality and drive positive changes that get noticed by clinical staff, patients and management”, he said.

David, medical director of Muscat Private Hospital, said, “The hospital first evolved primarily as a poly clinic and last several years have seen major changes. It is a one-stop shop for all healthcare needs and for us family comes first. ‘Family first’ encompasses MPH’s philosophy of delivering the best possible care tailored to the needs of the entire family, from pregnancy and paediatrics to surgery and diagnostics.”

The 72-bed premier private hospital will be entering a new era by expanding its in-patient and outpatient facilities to offer an even higher level of care to the population of the Sultanate.

A brand new sports injury clinic is set to open along with expanded heart centre, breast centre, and weight loss services. While expansion plans for its emergency room and surgical services facilities as well as the opening a new Out Patients Department building on the Hospital campus, looks likely to happen during 2011.

By fulfilling its vision of providing the region’s leading clinical programmes, MPH aims to retain its position as the hospital of choice for private patients in Oman.

Muscat Private Hospital opened in 22nd November, 2000 and is located in the rapidly developing and scenic area of Bausher. It is a 72-bed General Hospital, with first-class out-patient and in-patient facilities for the majority of specialties, including a Diagnostic Centre with C.T. Scan and the latest “open” MRI. Setting high standards of care for the benefit of patients in the private sector, the hospital is managed by Allied Medical (part of UME), an international hospital management group with more than 27 years of experience in the Middle East.
