Abstract

The Local History Department of the Central Library in Aberdeen has a collection of some 2300 volumes of locally produced newspapers, and a press cuttings file with 101 000 sheets of cuttings. The paper describes the optical disc system chosen to help solve the problems of storage and access to this volume of material.
