Abstract

Introduction In engineering it is often necessary to remove free water or surface moisture films from metal components and structures prior to the application of some finishing treatment. In many branches of production engineering, metal fabrications may require temporary rust prevention protection between processes, and this is frequently coupled with a prior need for surface de‐watering, as also is the protection of iron and steel in storage.
