IBA attains latest E3 approval

IBA Group Ltd, an independent aviation consulting company, informs us that it has become the first organisation to officially receive the latest CAA E3 approval, enabling it to transfer aircraft on to the UK registry.

Notice was given of a revision to the British Civil Aviation Requirements (BCAR) regarding E3 approvals, last autumn. The revision addresses all airworthiness standards associated with issue of a Certificate of Airworthiness; previously the E3 was limited to design standards only. IBA dedicated considerable internal resource for updating its procedures, prior to submitting its exposition to the CAA.

Stephen Horton, Technical Manager at IBA, said: "The E3 work we perform enables the operator to have an ontime return of an aircraft to its owner, which is crucial to prevent penalties or cost overruns being incurred by the operator. We are extremely pleased that the CAA has approved our upgraded E3 capabilities. This approval will enable us to expand our growing E3 portfolio."
