For the fourth time, the European Coatings Conference dedicated to “Smart Coatings” which will be taking place from 9-10 June 2005 in Berlin, Germany, aims at presenting the most important and coatings-relevant developments in the rapidly evolving and growing field of novel functional coating systems and smart surfaces. This year again, 17 outstanding international experts have been chosen to deliver high-level technical presentations and updates on their research results – and to face up to questions about their technology and its practical applicability.

During the conference, five technical sessions will focus on:

   Novel functional polymers;

   Applications of conductive polymers;

3. 3.

   Smart bio-coatings;

4. 4.

   Smart nano-coatings; and

5. 5.

   Molecular surface control.

Thus, after three highly successful previous instalments, Smart Coatings IV again offers the opportunity to hear about and discuss some of the most exciting concepts and products for the not-so-far future of the industrial coatings world. In addition, the conference provides ample opportunity to network with an international selection of experts representing a variety of coatings-producing and coatings-using industries.
