Abstract

Looks at the Cubital solider rapid prototyping machine which uses the solid ground curing technique to produce prototype models and is particular apt for models with overhangs, internal cavities and other complex features. Describes how the process employs photo‐imaging technology and photopolymerization to convert CAD data into a solid model on a layer‐by‐layer basis. Gives advantages of this system with it’s main benefit being the ability to drastically reduce the time to produce a model.
