Abstract

Purpose

To illustrate the use of team employment and management within a variety of organizations.

Design/methodology/approach

Writes about experiences of introducing team management into a Tool company and GE. Also provides some exercises in training and planning for team management.

Findings

Some of the key points made were the need for pilot testing, for the team to own the numbers and targets, and for open communications.

Originality/value

Some useful pointers for anyone considering a more team based approach to product or service delivery.
