Studies on heterocyclic chemistry. Part I. Tautomerism of the dimeric 3-methylisoxazol-5-one, a vinylogous hydroxamic acid
Abstract
Tautomerism of the dimeric 3-methylisoxazol-5-one, a vinylogous hydroxamic acid, is discussed. Spectrometry reveals that the NH form (I) and/or (V) predominates in organic solution. However, in aqueous solution dissociation into the anion is suggested.
