1-Bromocyclohexene from trans-1,2-dibromocyclohexane; a β-elimination by a “complex base”

Abstract

The action of NaNH2–ButONa on trans-1,2-dibromocyclohexane under mild conditions gives 1-bromocyclohexene in good yield.
