Effect of Tempering on Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of a High-Strength Low-Alloy Steel

  • Published:
Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

The effect of tempering at 450 – 650°C of different duration on mechanical properties and microstructure of a cast low-alloy steel is investigated. The ultimate rupture strength, the yield strength, the elongation and the Vickers hardness of the steel are determined. Metallographic analysis is performed.
