Grammar is crucial to the teaching and learning of English as a second language SL or foreign language FL. It is one of the most difficult aspects of language to teach since learning a language doesn't mean simply learning isolated linguistic units. Students learn how to make an appropriate use of these units in order to achieve a communicative purpose. On the other part of the coin, writing is the most practical means to see how far learners have gone in the learning process. It is the best evaluative means provided for the teacher to check learners’ linguistic competence. It is the final outcome of the learning process and would imply the successful or the unsuccessful transmission of language function, usage, and perception. My study is concentrated on grammatical errors in paragraph writing. It is an attempt to investigate why Saudi EFL learners of Preparatory Year Program PYP commit grammatical inaccuracy in the stage of writing production. The researcher tries to improve both of English language teaching ELT and English as a foreign language EFL learning experience. It is important for EFL learners to know how different linguistic components are arranged and organized to make meaning. Writing is an important productive skill through which thoughts and ideas are spread. It becomes the main concern of EFL teachers in different educational environment. The necessity of this study comes from creating and constructing different methods, approaches and techniques to produce better writers. The process of teaching writing has advanced hugely in the last few decades.
