Since January, 1941, we have been devoting ourselves mainly to the fundamental study in the chemotherapy of tuberculosis. After groping in the dark for about two years we were able to find in 1943 the fact that ortho-aminophenol possesses the specific bacteriostatic power for tubercle bacilli. A brief résumé of the experimental and clinical data will here be attempted.
