■ I am a staff nurse on a 22-bed children’s medical ward, which includes a HDU. I am investigating neurological assessment of children. We use the Glasgow Coma Scale for neurological assessment of children of all ages, but would be interested to hear from units using alternative assessment tools, e.g. modified GCS, Pinderfield Scale, Adelaide Scale. Junior Associate Nurse, Jo Ellis, Ward 24 Medical, Wexham Park Hospital, Wexham, Slough SL2 4HL.
