Chalkstring of the mind

Tom Newton Clinical Teacher, Staff Education Centre, Merseyside

Registered General Nurses are accepting posts in psychiatric nursing. But do they have enough experience in the specific area of mental health care?

A little knowledge is o dangerous thing' goes the saying and the relevance of this remark will not, I hope, be confirmed by the future actions of certain misguided nurses. I say misguided because it is a foolish and unreasonable nurse who will accept nursing responsibilities outside of her competency.
