Macmillan nursing can be highly rewarding. Hardly a day goes by without a student nurse or new staff nurse approaching me on the ward to ask how to become a Macmillan nurse. General nurses see that Macmillan nurses can spend time with patients and perhaps this is what attracts them to the role.
