MOST OF US will undoubtedly have contributed to the largest viewing audience ever to watch the televised celebration of the Centennial Gaines. The motto chosen by the reviver of the modern games, Baron Pierre De Cubertin, is ‘Citius, altius, fortius’ (swifter, higher, stronger) and this anniversary will have been the most attended, the most watched and inevitably the most expensive.
