Nicky Cullum explores the use of hydrocolloid dressings indicated in caring for various categories of wounds ranging from light to moderately infected through to necrotic wound tissue

A number of hydrocolloid dressings are now avail- able in the UK, for example, 0 Biofilm™ (Clinimed), Comfeel™ (Coloplast), Granuflex™ (Con- vatec) and Tegasorb™ (3M). The relative compositions of these dressings vary (1), but they all contain colloids, elastomeric and adhesive components (2).
