An epidemiological investigation of patients with hip fracture over 50 years old in Changning districtChinese Full Text

Abstract: Objective To investigate the epidemiology of patients with hip fracture especially for the age over 50 in changning district,Shanghai,China.Methods The information of the patients was gained by inquiring the ICD cord for the hip fracture during Jul.2008 and Jun.2012 through the Changning Public Medical Information Center and Shenkang Medical Center.The population distribution of Changning district in 2010 and 2011 was also collected through changning CDC.Results The standard incidence rate of hip fracture in Changning district was 68.01（52.15 for males and 82.09 for females）.The rate of females was much higher than that of males（P ＜0.05）.The standard incidence rate of hip fracture in patients over 50 years old in changning district was 140.80（95.90 for males and 182.86 for females）.The rate of females was much higher than that of males（P ＜0.05）.The rate of the age over 50 was much higher than that under 50（P ＜0.05）.Conclusion During Jul.2008 and Jun.2012,the rate of hip fracture patients over 50 years old in Changning district accounted for 94.75% in the total rate,which was less than the overage rate of the world.The rate of the age over 50 was much higher than that under 50（the rate of females was higher than that of males）.
