Overview

This data set contains ocean temperature, salinity, and wave data collected during a research initiative with the goal of understanding the physics that control sea ice breakup and melt in and around the sea ice edge. It was conducted by the U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR) Marginal Ice Zone Departmental Research Initiative (DRI) program to better understand the atmosphere-ice-ocean interactions that are taking place as ice in the Beaufort Sea retreats in summer and a seasonal marginal ice zone (MIZ) evolves. The field program took place in the summer of 2014.
