暖溫和低溫之組合層積促進臺灣紅豆杉種子的發芽

摘要


本文旨在探討利用暖溫和低溫層積二種處理破除臺灣紅豆杉種子的深度休眠,使種子順利發芽。研究發現以23℃/11℃或25℃/15℃變溫下連續6個月處理,再行3個月的5℃層積,能促使種子完全發芽,且發芽速度快、整齊。然而暖溫層積4個月和5℃層積3個月雖可使種子發芽,但平均發芽率較前述6個月暖溫層積低30%。22℃定溫再5℃層積無法有效地使種子發芽。只有暖溫層積而沒有低溫層積之種子發芽率都在5%以下。經5℃層積1年或4年的種子,仍必須再經一次暖溫和5℃之組合層積,才能促使種子發芽。種子發芽是發生在5℃層積以後。結論是暖溫再低溫層積能誘導種子後熟作用和打破休眠,最後使種子發芽。

This paper examined conditions for breaking dormancy of Taxus mairei (Lemee & Levl.) S. Y. Hu seeds by warm and cold stratification. It was found that alternating day/night temperatures of 23℃/11℃ or 25℃/15℃ for six months followed by 5℃ stratification for three months allowed for complete germination. This method decreased the number of days needed to attain 50% germination and produced uniform germinants. While the germination of seeds exposed to alternating temperatures for four months followed by three months at 5℃ tested, germination percentage was 30% lower than in seeds exposed to six months warm stratification. The germination percentage was lowest in seeds maintained at 22℃ followed by 5℃ stratification. Sequent warm stratification ailed to promote germination in these seeds and germination percentages were 5% or lower. Seeds which were stratified for one or four years were unable to overcome dormancy and still required the warm and cold treatments. It was determined that stratification must begin at the warm phase. Seed germination occurred after 5℃ stratification. It is concluded that the combination of warm and cold stratification is shown to be an effective method to induce afterripening, remove dormancy and promote seed germination.
