探討企業經營球隊與贊助運動賽事對經營績效與企業社會責任之關聯性

摘要


近幾年來,我國職籃與職棒運動都呈快速成長,尤其在中華職棒中,由於有越來越多的大聯盟明星洋將加入,使得運動比賽的商業價值水漲船高,不再只是單純的運動競技而已。其實一家企業如能用心經營球隊,不但能增加企業的聲譽及價值,還能帶動全國整體運動之風氣。 基於棒球是我國國內最火紅的運動之一,且棒球號稱“國球”,本研究除探討企業經營球隊與贊助運動賽事對企業績效的影響之外,再將樣本區分為棒球類型與非棒球類型加以探討。 本研究發現企業在經營棒球類型的球隊期間,其股東權益報酬率並未與未經營球隊有顯著不同,反而是在經營非棒球類型的球隊期間,對於企業的平均股東權益報酬率,卻呈現顯著負向關係。此實證結果支持受訪者的看法,因為他們認為在企業經營球隊初期,許多球隊需要企業的資金挹注與人力支援。在個別變數方面,總資產周轉率在經營球隊期間,呈現顯著正向關係。表示企業在經營球隊期間,企業與商品銷售能力亦有所成長。 本研究也發現,企業若只是贊助球隊以及運動賽事,並未對企業績效造成顯著影響。至於有關社會責任等無形價值衡量方面,受訪者普遍承認,一家企業在經營球隊之後,的確會提升員工的向心力及凝聚力,並且在履行社會責任方面,也更具執行力。

Recently, Taiwan’s professional basketball and baseball markets are booming. Particularly, some Major League Baseball (MLB) famous players joined with Taiwanese teams in the Chinese Profession Baseball League for the past two years, increasing the commercial values of these companies. If the enterprise leaders commit themselves to developing the professional teams, it not only strengthens the competition power and popularity of their company, but also prevails the national sports culture and popularity. Since the baseball is one of the most popular sports in Taiwan, this study further divides national sports into two categories: baseball and non-baseball. The empirical results are summarized below: The operation of baseball team in Taiwan does not have significant relationship with the return on equity (ROE) of the company. However, the operation of non-baseball teams has significantly negative relationship with the ROE of the company. This result confirms with the respondents’ argument that, during the beginning of the sports team operation period, various teams need the financial supports from their parental enterprises. Regarding the individual parameter, the total assets turnover ratio has significantly positive correlation with the ROE of the company, suggesting the marketing effect of operating the non-baseball teams. However, this study finds that the operating sponsors of sporting events have insignificant relationship with the ROE of the company. Regarding the measurement of the corporate’s social responsibility and other intangible values, the respondents generally agreed that, the operation of a sports team will enhance the coherence of that company. Sports competition and development are the growing forces that unite the executives and staffs of the company. The operation of sports team also improves the execution ability of social responsibility.
