瘦即是美的觀念使現今女性對自己身體審美觀的影響漸增,為達到體型纖瘦的目的,許多女性採取控制飲食、服用減肥藥、瀉劑、自我催吐、運動等方法來控制體重,藉以維持較佳的自尊。本研究目的即試圖瞭解女性大學生在社會壓力之下而產生減肥行為的心路歷程和所建構的合理化想法。本研究採取質性研究訪談法,以立意取樣選取六名典型個案進行深度訪談,訪談逐字稿經由三位分析者做內容分析校正。研究結果分別依體重控制經驗、體重控制的心理歷程、對肥胖的不愉快印象、決定減肥的原因、和體重控制的性別差異等內容逐項分析身體形象在其中的交互影響。體重控制的歷程既辛苦且漫長,而美麗的背後其實隱含著女性對人際關係、兩性關係和自信心提昇的高度企求。
The concept of “thinness means beauty” affects the female’s body aesthetic standard gradually. In order to achieve the goal of sculpturing slim body, many females adopt the ways of diet controlling, diet pills and cathartic taking, self-disgorged urging, and doing exercises to keep up their weights and maintain a better self-esteem. The purpose of this research is trying to understand female college students ’ psychological process of weight-control and how they restructure their body image through rationalized weight-control behavior under the social pressure. Six students are invited to accept an interview. The transcript of interview is analyzed and triangulated by three analyzers. The results of this research reveal the female students’ body image and the interaction with the following 5 items separately: the experiences of weight-control, psychological process of weight control, unpleasant impression toward the fat body, the decision of weight reduction, and gender differences in the aspects of weight-control. Weight-control behavior provides an endless and difficult process, which conceals high expectation in promoting the females’ interpersonal relationships, gender relations and self confidence.
