和算文化中的數學問題特色

The mathematic problems and related characteristic in Wasan culture

摘要


本文考察江戶時期涉及數學知識分類的重要算書,整理並探討和算主流問題的發展、流變與相關脈絡,並探討江戶時期,和算家接收中算傳書後,如何在本土數學文化影響下,過渡並發展出具有在地化特色的數學問題。和算主要依附在東亞漢字文化圈之下成長,雖然存在與中算、東算共通的特色,但吸納了中算知識後,在遺題繼承、算額奉納等特有的本土數學文化,以及數學家自主發展的問題意識等因素影響與促成下,發展出有別於中算與東算的在地數學文化與問題特色。從他們設計的問題來看,除了將傳統中算問題與其它舊問題作各種推廣,同時,更多的創意體現在他們所設計,各類平面與立體圖形交織而成的幾何問題上。總之,和算家在輸入的中算基礎上,由數學學術社群與成員獨立自主且自發地從事數學知識活動,本土化、在地化且智性地發展出和算特有的問題特色與數學文化風貌。

This article is devoted to explaining how Japan mathematicians developed the mathematic problems with local characters under the influence of their mathematic culture after the Chinese mathematic books communicated to Japan in the Edo period. First, I investigate the important Wasan texts involving the taxonomy of mathematic knowledge in the Edo period, and then arrange and discuss the development, transition and the related context of mainstream problems in Wasan. The development of Wasan mainly grown up under the Chinese character culture circle in East Asia. There are many common properties existed between Wasan, Chinese mathematics and Korean mathematics. After Wasan mathematicians acquire mathematic knowledge from Chinese mathematic texts, Wasan evolved into local mathematic culture and problem characteristic that different from Chinese mathematics and Korean mathematics under the influence of problematiques of Wasan mathematicians, and also under the advancement of the local culture of dedicating Sangaku and the characteristic mathematic activity of solving other' problems and then leaving new problems to others. Wasan mathematicians designed problems by generalizing the traditional problems coming from Chinese mathematics and other old problems, and also designed original geometry problems that consisted of all kinds of plan and spatial figures. In conclusion, depended upon the Chinese mathematics served as the foundation, Wasan mathematicians, the mathematics community and its members, engaged in mathematic activities autonomously and voluntarily, and locally evolved the peculiar problem characteristic and the style and features of mathematic culture of Wasan.
