This research uses content analysis, and employs the method of frequency distribution and percentage for data processing in order to analyze 724 Taiwanese sport management masters thesis from 2004-2008, 89 periodical papers, and 106 foreign periodical papers, in order to realize the topics and trends in sport management research between Taiwan and other foreign countries. The findings of this research show: 1. Both the annual volume of the Taiwanese sport management masters thesis and foreign periodical papers have increased, but the annual volume of the Taiwanese sport management periodical papers have remained steady. 2. Both Taiwan and other foreign countries have employed sport organization management and sport marketing management as their main research subjects, leaving human resource management as a potential favorite subject of study. Taiwan sports and information, technology management and sport leisure management have become popular too, but the focus is to enhance the research on sport policy and sport financial management. Sport financial management has maturely developed in foreign countries. According to the findings of the research, these are some of the suggestions: 1.Focus on the trends of the topics in sport management research. 2.The research should be more in depth. 3.The plan of the class must focus on professional knowledge and practice. 4.Undertake the analysis between different types of information and research topics.
