Proof of Concept of a European database for social sciences and humanities publications: Description of the VIRTA-ENRESSH pilot

This experimental database integrates metadata of publications from six different universities in four countries.
A total of over 50 000 references were integrated into the VIRTA-ENRESSH-pilot database. In this report we document the steps taken during this pilot, describe the data collected and discuss potential improvements. The potential as a science policy supporting tool of an integrating service for research information system is obvious: a small concerted investment using existing data from different source systems makes it possible to benchmark and monitor outputs across institutional and national boundaries.
