In this study, we presented a high-quality, chromosome-levelgenome assembly of a traditional Chinese medicinal plant, Prinsepia uniflora. The final assembly spans 1,272.71 Mb across 16 pseudochromosomes, with contig and super-scaffold N50 values of 2.77 and 79.32 Mb, respectively. A total of 875.99 Mb of repetitive sequences were annotated, with transposable elements spanning 777.28 Mb or 61.07% of the entire genome. We predicted 49,261 protein-coding genes within the repeat-masked assembly, 45,256 (91.87%) were functionally annotated, 5,127 (10.41%) were tandemly duplicated, and 2,373 (4.82%) were identified as transcription factor genes. In addition, we identified 3,080 non-coding RNAs spanning 0.51 Mb genome sequences. The reference-level P. uniflora genome assembly and annotation presented here will be highly useful indeep mining of genomic information of P. uniflora, and beneficial for comparative genomics and evolutionary studies of Rosaceae species.
