Global Aridity Index and Potential Evapotranspiration Climate Database v3 - Algorithm Code (Python)
The custom code in Python programming language used to develop the Global Aridity Index and Potential Evapotranspiration (ET0) Climate Database v3.
The “Global Aridity Index and Potential Evapotranspiration (ET0) Database” (Global-AI_PET_v3) provides high-resolution (30 arc-seconds) global hydro-climatic data averaged monthly and yearly for the period 1970-2000, based upon a fully parameterized implementation of a Penman-Monteith Reference Evapotranspiration (ET0) equation. An overview of the methods used to implement the Penman-Monteith equation geospatially, and a technical evaluationof the datasets are provided in a peer-reviewed journal article.
