These datasets contain the data from a cross-sectional study that took place in Kisantu Hospital, Democratic Republic of the Congo, from November 2013 to April 2017 in which hospital-admitted children (29 days to 14 years) with culture-confirmed non-typhoidal Salmonella bloodstream infections were enrolled. Stool cultures for Salmonella were performed on a subset of enrolled children, as well as on a control group of non-febrile hospital-admitted children.

The source data presented in these datasets were used in the publication "Salmonella stool excretion in children with non-typhoidal Salmonella bloodstream infection in the Democratic Republic of the Congo: high genetic similarity between paired blood and stool isolates"
