Bare-Earth SRTM

The 'Bare-Earth' SRTM DEM dataset is divded into five degree by five degree tiles, with 72 columns and 24 rows. Column and Row numbers are consistent with the orginal SRTM naming convention. The naming convention for each tile is BEST_version number_column_row.tif (eg. BEST_v1_01_02.tif). BEST is an ancoynm for Bare-Earth Srtm Terrian. Each tile is georeferenced and compressed to the LZW standard. We kindly ask any users to cite this data in any published material produced using this data, and if possible link web pages to the CIAT-CSI SRTM website (http://srtm.csi.cigar.org).
