Volodymyr
Tytar has devoted much of his research to the study
of the fauna of unique parts of the world—Chukotka,
Kyrgyzstan, Chernobyl, the Black Sea region, and
others. He has been interested in various animal
taxa, including those of mammals. Focusing on mammal
species, he has conducted a number of unique research
related to the study of viability and variability
of populations under extreme conditions (including
radioactive pollution), modelling of the ecological
niche and dynamics of their home ranges in the context
of climate change. He has paid considerable attention
to the research and monitoring of populations of
rare species on the basis of citizen science, including
the study of the Central Asian population of snow
leopards, as well as the long-tailed marmot as their
potential prey. The researcher's activity is also
related to the development of management plans for
wetlands of international importance. |
