Chronic wrist pain and no history of trauma.

Gender: Male

  • lunate bone is relatively small-sized reflecting diffusely abnormal signal of its marrow with internal cystic changes and edema, being low on T1 and heterogenous bright signal on PD fat impression sequence
  • negative ulnar variance
  • os triangulare

MRI features of a Kienböck disease in a young male patient with a negative ulnar variance which is considered a predisposing factor in 75% of cases.
