Presentation

Loss of appetite, unintentional weight loss (around 15 kg) over the last 4 months, and abdominal chronic pain in the right hypochondrium.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

A large hypodense cystic lesion in the left lobe of the liver with a weakly enhancing margin.

Liver keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma, well to moderately differentiated.

Case Discussion

Primary squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the liver is a rare tumor, and its prognosis is very poor. It seems to be mostly developed from the liver cyst or hepatolithiasis. Radical surgery is the main treatment, although the prognosis is not good.
