The Metal to Insulator Transition (MIT) in Bi1.7V8O16 probed with neutron spectroscopy:
Abstract: We propose to investigate the low energy spin and orbital fluctuations in Bi1.7V8O16 which displays a metal to insulator transition. This work will be performed in conjunction with current high resolution synchrotron x-ray diffraction experiments investigating the structure of this material. The proposal requests 5 days on MARI.
