Surface charge induced layering of ionic liquids on mica
Abstract: The structure of ionic liquids at charged interfaces is an exciting and vibrant area of current research. Previous surface force apparatus experiments have shown layering up to 80 Å on mica in confined environments. Here we aim to study the ordered structure in a non-destructive and non-invasive way using neutron reflection to probe the mica surface without confinement.
