Description

Snakebites and scorpion stings' victims are on the rise in Sudan as well as in other countries in the region. The recent increase in Sudan can be attributed to several causes including climate change, civil wars and displacement of people, founding effects, over hunting for commercial purposes and gold mining. On top of this, the imported antivenoms are not effective. Therefore it is high time to gather stakeholders to discuss the "what is needed to produce sntivenoms locally".
Toxic Organisms Research Centre (TORC) held this workshop under the umbrella of the Scientific Research Deanship at the University of Khartoum to discuss the way forward.
This book contains the papers presented in that workshop and the recommendations.
