THE CHIEFS OF POLICE IN THE CITY OF CHIȘINĂU DURING THE PERIOD OF APRIL 17, 1917 TO JANUARY 1918

The aim of the research in question is to shed light on a chapter in the history of Bessarabia dedicated to the chiefs of the police in the city of Chișinău during the period of April 17, 1917, to January 1, 1918. The research reflects the reform of the internal organs in the year 1917 which abolished the police and established a new structure within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, namely the “miliția” – gendarmerie, on April 17, 1917. The unprecedented information from archival documentary sources allows us to highlight the eight individuals in the leadership apparatus of the “miliția”  in the city of Chișinău. Additionally, important information regarding the responsibilities of the chiefs, reports, studies, salaries, etc., has been systematized.
