Remarks. Munda picturata Stål, 1877 remains the only known species of this genus to occur in the Philippines. Despite being the type species, very little is known about this species, including its original description being particularly brief, and has not been studied recently (see Gorochov, 2007 [2006], 2008). This species is very similar to Munda fasciata (Haan, 1844) from Java (sensu Gorochov, 2007 [2006]), including the colouration of the head and the FIIIs external surface with a dark longitudinal band; but differs distinctly by the colour patterns of the pronotum and the FWs without multiple white spots. Our male specimen also has genitalia similar to Munda certa Gorochov, 2007 and Munda pulchella Gorochov, 2007 from Sumbawa (Indonesia), but differs by the FWs without having a large yellow spot basally and multiple white-yellow spots along the length, respectively. As we are not able to examine the male holotype of Munda picturata, we keep the identity of our specimen tentative. Once the identification can be confirmed, we can proceed to describe or redescribe M. picturata in the future.
