Positive for urease activity, esculin hydrolysis and β -galactosidase activities. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, and arginine dihydrolase and gelatinase activities. D- Glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, N -acetylglucosamine, and malic acid are utilized. Does not utilize D- maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain G187 (= NIBRBAC000503410) was isolated from a soil sample, Yeongju, Korea.
