Positive for esculin hydrolysis and urease and β -galactosidase activities. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, and arginine dihydrolase and gelatinase activities. D- Glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, N -acetylglucosamine, D- maltose, potassium gluconate and malic acid are utilized. Does not utilize capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid. Strain HMF6710 (= NIBRBAC000503112) was isolated from a tidal field sample, Wando, Korea.
