THE PARTICIPATION OF CHILDREN IN THE ORGANIZATION OF SPACES IN THE CLASSROOM OF AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

In this text, the aim is to present the results and discussions of a research carried out with children, whose theme was the child's participation in decision-making in the school context. The objective of this investigation was to understand what happens when the child organizes the spaces in the classroom, in a Municipal Center of Elementary Education (CMEI) in Ponta Grossa - PR. The study was developed at the end of 2021 and beginning of 2022, with sixteen children in the last year of this segment. To satisfy the research objective, the data were produced, together with the children, through participant observation, interview-conversation and classroom organization action. The speeches, verbal and non-verbal, produced in this stage of the research, were analyzed using the technique of conversation and speech analysis. The research resulted in a new formulation of pedagogical spaces in the classroom, reflection on the ways children participate in decision-making in the school context and the legitimation of children's voices, verbal and non-verbal.
