Type-genus: Fulgora Linnaeus, 1767: 703

Type-species: Cicada laternaria Linnaeus, 1758: 434

Chronostratigraphic occurrence: Lower Cretaceous, Barremian/Aptian (ca. 125–121 Ma to present). Oldest known fossil occurrence: Laiyangella zhangi Zhao, Bourgoin et Luo, 2023.
