Trichiosomites Brues, 1908, p. 259
Trichosomites: Abe & Smith, 1991, p. 87, misspelling
Type species. Trichiosomites obliviosus Brues, 1908.
Emended diagnosis. Distinct from other Abiinae by its very wide pterostigma and second flagellar segment forming the first part of the club.
Remarks. Trichiosomites obliviosus fits well with the Abiinae. Its distinctly segmented club excludes Corynidinae and Pachylostictinae, and widely separated anal cells exclude Cimbicinae. It is the oldest representative of the subfamily.
