Type locality: Austria, Wienergegend [surroundings of Vienna]

= Pyralis pulchellalis Millière, 1873b: 221

Type locality: France, Alpes-Maritimes

Distribution. Indian records: Dharamshala (Hampson 1896b), North West Himalayas (Hampson 1896a), India (Lee & Bae 2007). Global records: South Europe, Japan, Syberia (Hampson 1896a), Vietnam (Tonkin) (de Joannis 1930), Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Russia (Siberia), Maynmar, Central and Southern Europe (Lee & Bae 2007), Korea (Bae et al. 2008), Borneo (Sutton et al. 2015).
