HIFIS: Building a Workshop Portfolio from 0

When HIFIS was initiated in 2019 one of the goals of the platform was to provide education opportunities for the Helmholtz scientists regarding RSE topics.

Follow us on our journey to learn how a few software engineers built the HIFIS education offers (almost) from scratch, the obstacles we faced and how we overcame them, and let us share the lessons we learned along the way.

We will further discuss the current state of operations, the role of open source and custom-written software in it and an outlook towards future developments will be given.
