Soriculus baileyi Thomas, 1941. J. Bombay Nat. Hist. Soc., 22:683.

TYPE LOCALITY: India, Assam, Hishmi Hills, Tsu River, 7500 ft.

DISTRIBUTION: Himalayas in Tibet (SW), Nepal; Assam (India); probably Bhutan.

COMMENT: Considered a subspecies of caudatus by Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951:59; but also see Abe, 1971, J. Fac. Agric. Hokkaido Univ., 56:367-423, who found baileyi and caudatus in sympatry.
