AN INTERDISCIPLINARY PROPOSAL FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CARRIED OUT IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ITAPIRA-SP

Currently, concern for the environment is present in the lives of a large part of the population and understanding and responsibility are essential values in a society with regard to environmental preservation. This article aimed to describe the environmental education actions developed at the Environmental Education Center located in Parque Juca Mulato, Itapira-SP in an event held during the celebrations of Children's Day. During the event, participants were able to observe the taxidermized animals in this space, encourage residents to plant trees on public sidewalks, watch educational films for children, among other actions. The results showed that the activities developed characterize plausible actions with regard to raising the awareness of children and families on issues related to environmental preservation, serving as a link for sustainable participation in the construction of cities.
