Description

Pipistrellus rueppelli (Fischer, 1829). Synopsis Mamm., p. 109.

TYPE LOCALITY: Sudan, Northern Province, Dongola.

DISTRIBUTION: Senegal, Algeria, Egypt, and Iraq, south to Botswana and Transvaal (South Africa); Zanzibar.

SYNONYMS: coxi, fuscipes, leucomelas, pulcher, senegalensis, vernayi.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Pipistrellus.
