Platyrrhinus helleri

Description

Platyrrhinus helleri (Peters, 1866). Monatsb. K. Preuss. Akad. Wiss. Berlin, 1866:392.

TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico.

DISTRIBUTION: Oaxaca and Veracruz (Mexico) to Peru, Bolivia, and Amazonian Brazil; Trinidad. A Paraguay record is erroneous.

SYNONYMS: incarum, zarhinus.

COMMENTS: Includes zarhinus; see Jones and Carter (1976:23) and Gardner and Carter (1972:78). See Ferrell and Wilson (1991, Mammalian Species, 373).
