Description

Macaco silenus (Linnaeus, 1758). Syst. Nat., 10th ed., 1:26.

TYPE LOCALITY: " Ceylon " India, Western Ghats; see W. C. O. Hill (1974:652).

DISTRIBUTION: SW India, Western Ghats.

STATUS: CITES - Appendix I; U.S. ESA and IUCN - Endangered.

SYNONYMS: ferox, veter.
