Description
Margaretamys beccarii (Jentink, 1880). Notes Leyden Mus., 2: 11.
TYPE LOCALITY: Indonesia, Sulawesi, Sulawesi Utara, Menado.
DISTRIBUTION: N.E. and C. Sulawesi.
COMMENT: Includes thysanurus; see Musser, 1971, Zool. Meded., 45: 147- 157. Formerly placed in subgenus Maxomys of Rattus by Laurie and Hill, 1954:118, and in Rattus; but see Musser et al., 1979, J. Mammal., 60:592-606, who revised Maxomys, and Musser, 1981, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 168(3):274-286.
ISIS NUMBER: 5301410011058015001 as Rattus beccarii.
